Once upon a time...
Once, when I was a fourth grader, there was this super duper geeky fifth grader named Troy Rutter. Me and all of my super duper snotty fourth grader friends used to tease him because he was tall and skinny and had thick glasses and looked like that guy who made robots on that show in Miami that wasn't Miami Vice. Riptide, I think it was called. We teased him so much that one day, as my class was going down the stairs to gym, and his was coming up, we were taunting him as usual, and he retorted, "I know you like me!" Poor thing had probably gone to his parents and said, "these girls keep teasing me." And his mom probably said, "Oh, honey, it's just because they like you." But the thing is, we didn't. We were just mean kids. Anyway, I just got a "friend request" from this Troy tonight on Facebook. I guess he held that mom-thought his whole life. I confirmed the friendship, just out of guilt from 23 years ago.
